T Level program launches as first cohort of students embark on their college journey

In the world of education and childcare, there’s an exciting new pathway for students, the Early Years: Education and Childcare T Level. This program offers a unique blend of classroom-based learning and real-world experience, providing students with a solid foundation for future careers and university education.

Students attend college from Monday to Wednesday for their classes and then spend Thursday and Friday gaining practical experience on placement.

The placement coordinators at college play a pivotal role in helping students to find suitable work placements.

One of the unique attractions of this program is its commitment to bridging the gap between education and industry.

Plans are also in the works to bring employers into the college to meet students. This direct exposure to potential future employers will provide valuable insights and networking opportunities.

The students enrolled in the Early Years T Level program will accumulate an impressive total of 750 hours of practical experience during their placements. The course opens doors for students who aspire to pursue higher education and a career working with children.

Today, the first students to enrol in our Early Years: Education and Childcare T Level arrived at college for their first day.

Health, Education & Care Lecturer, Emma Rand, is a passionate advocate for the program. She said: “If you’re wanting to work with children, then this is the best route for you to go down.

“And then you can go off to university and become a primary school teacher, you can go and study an Early Years degree, and you can then go on to teaching if you’d like after that, or you can then take that knowledge back into nurseries where they need highly qualified people who are specialised.

“It’s really, really important that there are two routes because people can finish this course and go and work for a couple of years and then go off to university, or you can go straight to university; so there are lots and lots of options.”

This new and exciting T Level is a dynamic and practical route that equips students with the necessary skills and experience to excel in their studies and future careers. To discover more about the course, simply click here.
