Welcome to South Bristol Skills Academy

South Bristol Skills Academy is now open for enrolment for courses starting in September.
City of Bristol College has developed the Academy to improve skills, drive up educational standards and provide employment opportunities in south Bristol.
The Skills Academy is an important part of our strategy for south Bristol. It’s all about working in partnership to develop state-of-the-art education and training facilities which transform learning and achievement. It’s also about improving employment prospects for local people by encouraging them to have bold ambitions and helping them to succeed.
'South Bristol Skills Academy will play the leading role in helping young people and adults in this part of the city to gain the skills and qualifications they need to progress on to higher education and employment.'

What will it offer?
The Skills Academy will help to prepare 14-19 year olds and adults for work by offering a wide range of Diplomas, NVQs and BTEC courses.
- For young people: a range of specialised diplomas and occupational routes; career-focussed facilities that are not currently available in south Bristol; opportunities to improve knowledge and skills as well as pathways for progression
- For adults: a range of employer-led training opportunities that can lead to sustained employment
- For employers: a flexible and responsive approach that identifies skills gaps and delivers training to meets your needs.

What will the Skills Academy mean for Bristol?
One of five main City of Bristol College centres, the Academy will expand the opportunities available for education and training in the local area. The Academy will improve the expectations, participation, attainment and employment prospects of people in south Bristol.
The Skills Academy is an important part of the Hengrove Park regeneration project. The College is committed to working in partnership with key community groups, schools and employers to support the local economy and boost south Bristol.
