AEC at Parkway
There are two City of Bristol College buildings that form the Advanced Engineering Centre (AEC) at Parkway.
The Parkway Building is situated off New Road next to SGS College/WISE Campus and Abbeywood Community School.
The AEC Building is situated approximately 300 yards from the Parkway Centre.
Our state-of-the-art Advanced Engineering Centre (AEC) at Parkway brings together our College’s existing engineering, aeronautical, manufacturing and automotive courses into one place. It provides great industry facilities including workshops, laboratories, computer aided simulation rigs and testing/diagnostic equipment.
The centre provides students with the latest technology and uses the highest standard of the latest industry equipment, including:
- A vehicle brake testing station
- An on-site commercial jet aircraft
- 3D printing
- Advanced CAD modelling software
- Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines
Includes a training helicopter, light aircraft, computer aided simulation rigs and a wind tunnel. There is also a large hangar for two aircraft, an avionics laboratory, electrical laboratory, technical library, an engine workshop and composite material workshop.
Includes a large engineering workshop, electronics equipment, a hydraulic laboratory and pneumatics test equipment, a CNC workshop and lathes. Other facilities include solid modelling equipment and computer aided learning equipment.
Includes workshops for heavy and light vehicles, motorcycles, body repair and finishing. The workshops are fully equipped with industry standard equipment. There is also a electronic engine testing and diagnostic equipment and computer aided simulation rigs.
Other facilities include innovative learning spaces and a large Study Centre. This equipment allows our students to work with the latest technology to give them the skills and experience they need to progress into employment.
The Advanced Engineering Centre at Parkway has free parking for visitors, students and staff, including disabled parking and designated car share spaces.
Secure lockers and bicycle anchor points are available at the centre.
