About the course

Part-time classes for adults twice a week 

  • morning 9.30 - 12.45am
  • afternoon 1.30 - 4.45pm
  • evening 6.15 - 8.45pm

You can also choose to do an extra skills class in:

  • Writing - Friday morning 9.30-12.45
  • Maths Level 1 and Level 2 -one morning 9.30-12.45am
  • Maths Entry level  -  1 afternoon 1.30-3.30pm
  • Speaking & Listening -  1 afternoon 1.30-3.00pm

Entry Requirements

You will have an assessment of your English skills to see which class is the right level for you.

What will I do on this course?

On our courses you can:

  • Improve your English - speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary
  • Learn how to write formally and informally for emails, letters, CVs and job applications
  • Learn about life in the UK
  • Learn about the work skills you need to get a job or a promotion at work
  • Learn about maths including measuring, budgeting and how to read timetables
Who is it for?

ESOL courses are for people whose first language is not English. Our courses will help you to improve your English skills to help you find employment, communicate with your child's school, the Job Centre or doctor, or just make your life in the UK easier. We run course in the mornings, afternoon and evenings to fit in with your own life.

How to apply

Please call 0117 312 5000 to make an appointment for an initial assessment. 

If you are not receiving benefits, the price of your course will depend on when you start. You can discuss the fees when you have your assessment.

How Is this course assessed?

You will get regular homework and complete tests in class in English to measure your progress. In additition, you will  complete individual learning targets. At the end of your course you will take exams (College exams or Cambridge Skills for Life ESOL) in Speaking and Listening, Reading or Writing.

What could I do next?

When you have succesfully completed your course you can continue improving your English at the next level, look for work or do another course at the College to train for employment. We can also help you progress onto other work training or search for jobs.
