Who is this course for?
The Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship is suitable for those who are involved in administration as their primary work activity.
They will have an understanding of complex administrative functions and activities and have the ability to carry out a comprehensive range of non-routine administrative tasks in a senior or supervisory role such as:
- administration officer/executive
- administration team leader
- office supervisor
- personal assistant.
What you'll learn
The apprenticeship combines developing practical and theoretical skills, together with experience gained in the workplace.
Depending on job role, the apprentice could develop a variety of administrative skills including:
- managing budgets
- analysing and reporting data
- contributing to running a project
- supervising a team in a business environment.
Course entry requirements
To undertake an apprenticeship you should have at least one year’s experience in an administrative role.
You need to be employed (minimum 30 hours per week). Search for apprenticeship vacancies.
Apprentices will ideally have English and Maths GCSEs Grade 4 (C) or above, and have either completed a Business Administration Apprenticeship or have administration experience. They will also need good organisation and planning skills, good knowledge of IT and be able to work as part of a team.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will need to pass an endpoint assessment in the form of a multiple-choice assessment, a project presentation and a portfolio interview.
Competency is assessed through a combination of methods in the workplace and visited regularly by their assessor. On completion, the apprentice will have gained knowledge about their employment rights and responsibilities and will have the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English (if applicable)
- Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in Mathematics (if applicable)
- Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in Information and Communication Technology (if applicable)
Future career and study opportunities
On completion, the apprentice will have the skills and experience needed to develop their career in business administration.
