2023 Higher Education Graduation cohort are first to graduate at Bristol Beacon

On Saturday 18 November, we were extremely proud to be gathered at The Bristol Beacon’s Lantern Hall to celebrate the incredible achievements of our graduates alongside their friends, family and support networks at our 2023 Higher Education Graduation.

It certainly was a historic occasion as our college proudly became the first to host a graduation at this newly refurbished, distinguished venue.

The air buzzed with excitement in a venue boasting exceptional facilities and brilliant accessibility, setting the stage for honouring our students’ new qualifications and outstanding accomplishments.

Distinguished guests, esteemed staff, graduands and members of the congregation came together, making this celebration even more special.

Taking to the stage, Principal and Chief Executive Officer, Julia Gray, addressed the audience, saying:
“Today, we recognise the results of the hard work and determination that students have put into their studies.”

She continued: “Today is also an opportunity to thank the dedicated lecturers and support staff in our Higher Education Team, who work tirelessly to support our students in achieving their qualifications and enjoying their studies.

“Congratulations on your success, and we hope that you enjoy your special graduation ceremony.”

Director of Further and Higher Education, Pasquale Fasulo, also took to the lectern to lead the graduation ceremony. He began: “Graduation is a monumental milestone in your life and an incredible accomplishment. I am sure that you will agree that Bristol Beacon acts as a wonderful backdrop for this occasion, and I would like to express the college’s thanks to the Bristol Beacon for allowing us to celebrate the achievements of our graduands here today.

“It is also my pleasure to welcome Jo Midgely and Dr Daniel Matthews as well as our other distinguished guests comprised of college leaders, governors and senior representatives of our validating partners to the platform.”
