Nisbets invests in future culinary talent with generous donation for Bristol’s aspiring chefs

In a display of support for budding culinary talent at City of Bristol College, Nisbets, the UK’s leading catering equipment supplier has very kindly donated 15 sets of chef whites, a smart uniform complete with aprons for our Commis Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship students.

Mark, representing Nisbets, visited the City Restaurant at our College Green Centre for the official donation of the uniforms, igniting a wave of enthusiasm among the apprenticeship students.

The students are now fully equipped with brand-new uniforms, setting the stage for their professional culinary progression.

Our Commis Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship operates in collaboration with The School of Food, a pioneering hospitality training initiative founded by chefs Adrian Kirikmaa and Josh Eggleton.

The alliance between The School of Food and the college’s apprenticeship programme is the result of a unique strategy to further enrich students’ training.

The initiative is a unique vocational hospitality training programme for Bristol’s future chefs and restauranteurs that aims to address the hospitality skills shortage in our city and the surrounding area.

Mark’s visit commemorated the generous contribution, alongside Adrian Kirikmaa from St. Monica’s Trust, representing The School of Food. They were also joined by Lecturer William Bennet-Clark, Head of Department Katherine Woodward and Nicola Stones, Apprenticeships and Business Development Manager, to celebrate this positive collaboration.

This gesture from Nisbets signifies a community joining forces with industry leaders, educational institutions and organisations, aligning their efforts to empower aspiring chefs.

The provision of high-quality chef whites and aprons not only elevates the students’ professional identity but also symbolises the local industry’s investment in their success.
