About the course

The Marketing Apprenticeship has been designed to address challenges for employers of all sizes across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. The industry plays an essential role in ensuring the success across all sectors of the economy. The marketing industry includes the marketing of traditional goods and services, conferences and events, market research and social marketing. Whilst working in the environment you will also be learning new and up to date skills. 

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, however you should have a strong interest in working in Marketing or Market Research

Employers are looking to attract apprentices who have:

  • Aptitude for design
  • An understanding of digital and communications technology
  • Confident communication skills
What will I do on this course?

Mandatory modules

The Apprenticeship framework consists of a knowledge component that you will attend college to achieve and an NVQ qualification that will be assessed in your work place. Functional skills for English, Maths and ICT are also part of the course and these are delivered in a blended learning environment with some classroom sessions and online support. You will study the following units:

  • Principles of marketing theory
  • Understanding legal, regulatory and ethical requirements in sales or marketing
  • Principles of personal responsibilities and working in a business environment

Optional modules

You will also be required to choose at least one of the following units:

  • Principles of customer relationships
  • Principles of digital marketing
  • Principles of market research
  • Understanding the relationship between sales and marketing
Who is it for?

You should have a flair for design and have confident communication skills. You should be interested in planning and organising events or exhibitions, including marketing and market research linked with these activities. Some prior experience in this would be an advantage though not essential.
