The fastest growing sector in the world, travel and tourism is proving itself to be recession resistant. Research indicates that even in times of austerity, people remain committed to taking family holidays, weekend getaways or minibreaks.

Travel and tourism represents 9.5% of global GDP and supports 1 in 11 of all jobs worldwide. In the UK, domestic and overseas tourists visiting the UK currently contribute around £115 billion a year to our economy. By 2020, this is predicted to rise to £188 billion, with more than 250,000 new tourism-related jobs expected to be created. There’s never been a better time to get into this thriving industry.

We offer a wide range of travel and tourism courses, from Level 1 to Level 3. You could pursue any number of opportunities, retail, hotels, events, currency exchange, tour operations or tourist administration to name but a few, as well as working in air, road, rail and water transport, or even public attractions like museums, theme parks, zoos and historic country houses.

Studying with us could mean you’ll practise real life training in our purpose-built aircraft cabin, kitted out with aircraft seats and air and land side specialist equipment. Students recreate many scenarios including customer service, a full inflight service, complete with safety briefings, food service and emergency procedures. We also have fantastic links with industry companies in the region like Swissport Ground Handling, ICTS Security and OCS passenger handling at Bristol Airport and Thomas Cook for opportunities working abroad. You’ll also go airside at RAF Brize Norton.
